The refreshing autumn breeze simply cannot cool off the passion for research of the postgraduates at the Basic Medical School. Both students and professors have gathered with great excitement at “Poster Day 2015”.
While it seems like a regular school day in the early mornings of 6th Nov, with students rushing to the Medical School from their dormitories, the large “Poster Day 2015”banner hanging over the Medics Building clearly suggests that today is going to be filled with plenty of students showing off their hard work and plenty of interesting discussions. This annual festival is jointly held by the Neuroscience, Oncology, Infectious Science, Immunology, Molecular Medicine, Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine departments. The exhibition is divided into five sectors, with each department taking one sector. The entire exhibition showed works by more than 150 researchers from more than 50 laboratories.
The main exhibition area is on the second floor lobby of the Medics Building. Teachers and students can walk freely from booth to booth and listen to passionate presentations from the exhibiting researchers. There are great discussions between the students and teachers, showing that there’s a strong academic atmosphere at the Basic Medical School. On top of the regular exhibitions, the Best Scientific Photography Competition is also held on the same day. The pictures on display are both surreal and beautiful, captivating the attentions of the attendees. In another area, students were delivering their research results verbally to the attendees.
