- Research Interests：The main focus of Stijn’s research is on host-microbe interactions, antibiotic resistance, and vaccine development against bacterial pathogens, pacticularly pathogenic Neisseria species. This research fits in a long-term research strategy of my lab to define mechanisms that bacterial pathogens employ to colonize the human host and cause disease and translate this knowledge to the development of vaccines and targets for intervention.
