From May 27th to 30th, 2011 Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine CSBE Conference and the 71 West Lake Symposium was held at Zhejiang University. About 300 participants attended the meeting, including scientists working at tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in China, entrepreneurs interested in regenerative medicine, and government officers in this field.
The Opening Ceremony of the conference was officiated by Ms. Ma Hongjian, Vice Director of the Biotechnology Development Center, the Ministry of Sci & Tech, Professor Kung Hsiang-Fu from Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professors Bei Guoxian and Liu Wei, officers in charge of the China Society of Biomedical Engineering, and Professor Duan Shumin, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Zhejiang University.
Topics of the conference range from the most innovative findings in laboratory to the technical development for stem cell, one of the hottest issues in life sciences. The discussion of application from the bench side to the bed side also attracts dozens of audience.
Session for Young Investigators was particularly arranged to encourage young talents in the field of Tissue Engineering, followed by Poster Award.
