Dr. SHI Liu, a senior researcher scientist at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford, delivered an academic talk entitled "Replication study of plasma biomarkers relating to Alzheimer's pathology" on October 14, 2022, which was supported by Zhejiang University Global Partnership Fund. The talk was chaired by Professor ZHOU Yiting, from School of Basic Medical Sciences, ZJU.
Dr. SHI Liu is currently working in the Department of Psychiatry of Oxford University. Her research focuses on using machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyze multi-omics data, with the aim to discover novel biomarkers and drug targets for Alzheimer's disease. In addition to research, she is enthusiastic about translating fundamental research into reality to ensure people benefit from science. She was an I2I Fellow at the Oxford Saïd Business School and has participated in Executive MBA courses. Furthermore, she obtained the iCURe grant and acted as the entrepreneurial lead to commercialize a blood test for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease. In this talk, Dr. Shi Liu mainly introduced how to comprehensively use big data and other means to analyze and identify new markers of Alzheimer's disease. Online and offline audiences were full of interest and active on-site interaction.
