With the development of Chinese comprehensive strength and influence in the field of internationalised study, outstanding researchers who can lead an academic mainstream are particularly important. It was recently reported by Elsevier that Zhejiang University ranks the third in the Queue of “Most Cited Chinese Researchers”. In the year of 2015, 78 scholars were listed on “Most Cited Chinese Researchers”, and four of them were from the school of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS), Duan Shumin, Guan Minxin in Biology, Ouyang Hongwei in Medical Engineering and Lai Maode in Medical Science.
“Teaching and learning” has always been the spirit of BMS. From the year of 2009, while most people paid attention to the number of SCI Article, the leader of BMS were concerned about the guidance of research. BMS started with teacher employment and National Scholarship selection of students, and insisted by the strategy of "quality to win". Compared with influencing factor 2.88 in 2009, year 2015 has a higher influencing factor of 5.07. Amongst all, there were 45 papers with influencing factor greater than 5.0 and 11 papers with influencing factor greater than 10.0.In a word, both numbers reached a new record.Facing result that already obtained, the leaders of BMS begin to plan how to make perfect sense for research. Under the guidance of new policy, we believe that more professors in BMS will be listed in the Queue of “Most Cited Chinese Researchers”.
